Call a Good Friend

Sometimes it seems like no matter what you do to stay happy, there is something or someone that always gets in the way of your uplifting spirits. In times when you are in a funk, and just can't seem to get out; why not call a friend? It is better to have 1 great friend than 10 mediocre friends. It is true, quality friends and people in general are hard to find. So when you are feeling blue and in a rut, try calling your best friend in the whole wide world. Reminisce, laugh, and talk about unimportant stuff, as long as you are communicating with each other, that's all that matters. So call your best friend today and show her/him how much you care.

Be Fearless!

Self-doubt can be the destroyer of all good things. When you deal with a level of insecurity, your are limiting yourself to many possibilities of great opportunities. I know sometimes, it is hard to believe that you are capable of things that you think are unimaginable. Your reason for not going forward may be due to your fear of success, or your fear of failure. Maybe you cringe at the thought of rejection.

I can relate to a level of being fearful. I am in the process of starting my own business, and I can admit that I do let my mind get the best of me. What if they don't like me? What if they tell me my work is horrible? All of these thoughts go through my brain, when I am thinking about marketing my services. But you know what I say. " So what." If they don't like me , there is someone who will like me. And will be able to benefit from what I have to offer. I think the saying goes " It is better to have tried and failed, then to not have tried at all." Hopefully you get the point, but that is the saying that I try to live by. You never know until you try right? So be fearless in your ventures, and you will succeed even when you fail.

Time to Getaway

Sometimes life worries can have you so absorbed in the negative, that you forget to focus on the positive things in your life. I am not saying that running away will solve any of your problems, but at times you feel like you just want to escape from it all. The bills, inactive love life, toxic friends, unruly bosses and the list can go on. The only way to face your demons is stare them in the face and tell them exactly how you feel. But in a nice way, you have to remember that people are just like you, they may be going through a hard time, and they may not know how to handle their issues well. So before you get all boiled up take time to reflect and see if there is a way you can make a negative situation into a positive one. After all your well-being is far more important than anything in this world. So forget about your woes for one day and just live in the moment of the things that you love best.

I explored the Grand Canyon today, and it was absolutely amazing! I have seen pictures and postcards, but after seeing this magnificent piece of landscape up close and personal. I can say the pictures do these formation of wonderful rocks no justice. Escaping to a close but distant land in my own country was the refresher that I needed. This was a perfect day trip that was worth the 10 hour drive (There and back).

What is your perfect getaway, when you feel you need to distress?

Take a Break

This is a lesson that I have to teach myself. I have been working tirelessly for the last few months, trying to organize my start-up business. The experience has been rewarding and challenging. There is so much information that I did not know, and more information that I need to learn. From sunrise to sundown, I have put all of my time, energy and patience into creating a brand that I can be proud of. Although my business is a work in progress, I know that I will eventually get it to where I need it to be. After working my "buns" off, I realized that I need to take a break. So I chose what I know best to help me distress; dancing! Luckily I live in Las Vegas, Nevada where nightclubs are open on any given day of the week. So I pick my at least one day, to forget about work, stress, woes, and whatever else is boggling my mind. And I just release my emotions through powerful movement on the dance floor. So when you feel like you are overwhelmed, pick your passion and reward yourself by engaging in any activity that you enjoy best!

Everyone needs a little bit of India….

India Arie that is. If you don’t know who she is allow me to introduce her to you. Indie Arie is a neo-soul artist that is fearless with the guitar and melodic with her voice. Her words move you into a state of serenity like no other. Why do I love her so much? Because she does not conform to society’s standards of what they identify as beautiful. She knows her worth and loves herself inside and out. Her hits like “ I am not my hair.” And “ Love yourself.” give you a pure example of who she is and how she does not succumb to superficiality. She believes in love and life, and she knows all things are possible through faith. Take a moment to listen to her smooth sounds, and you will see why she is a pleasure to listen to after a long day.
